Most meetups are lovely. A few habits make sure yours are too.
๐Before you go
- Read the plan details and look at who is going.
- Tell a friend or family member where you're going and when you expect to be back.
- Keep the conversation in the plan's group chat rather than moving to other apps.
- Don't share your home address, where you're staying, or financial details.
๐At the meetup
- Meet at the public place named in the plan, and arrange your own transport there and back.
- Keep your phone charged and your belongings with you.
- Trust your instincts. If something feels off, leave. You don't owe anyone an explanation.
- Check who is paying before you go, and bring enough to cover yourself anyway. Never send money to another member.
๐จIf something goes wrong
- In danger? Call 999 for police or 998 for an ambulance.
- Report the person or plan in the app as soon as you can, with as much detail as you remember.
- Block anyone you don't want to hear from again.
